"No fiddle, no fuss, just food"
I'm a firm believer that anyone can cook a great family dinner costing less than a fiver using everyday groceries.
In August 2008, I carried out some research and was concerned about the food that people eat and the way in which they eat it. I found that in our current climate there is a growing consumer interest in saving money on ever increasing bills. Sadly, food is very often the first expense to be cut. But it doesn't have to be this way... By simply preparing more food at home, there are quick and easy ways to cut costs while still cooking simple, nutritious meals.
"The secret of successful cookery? Getting the basics right first!" – Antony Worrall Thompson.
A poll of men and women across a range of age groups was conducted on Facebook. The results were conclusive: the one main problem with current British cookbooks is that the ingredients used are much too expensive. Nearly half of the women polled believed this to be the case. Over a third of the men commented that they found cookery books too daunting. my ethos is to provide a comprehensive guide to basic proportions in cookery, providing the quantities needed for simple, everyday family food.
I’ve included lots of useful information on this site to teach you how to cook straightforward, delicious meals, and to help you save money.
